His Start in Technical Analysis

“I first began my journey in technical analysis in 2014. I actually started stock investing in 2012 but I primarily focused on company fundamentals and cost averaging. It wasn’t until 2014 that I started studying technical analysis so that I could get a deeper understanding of market movement and timing. Then in 2015, I began forex trading and totally immersed myself in technical analysis.”

What Inspired Him to Pursue It

“What inspired me to pursue general technical analysis was the realization that the market is not a formula to memorize or a strategy to apply. The market is a collection of the sentiment of all the market participants– and the price chart is the visual representation of this sentiment.

This gave me a deeper appreciation of how the market works and has helped me understand how the market as an organism that is alive, behaves.”

How He Uses Technical Analysis

“For me, technical analysis is the guide that shows me what the market is feeling at the moment. If you can understand what the market is feeling, it is easier to hypothesize what the market will eventually feel in the future based on trends, saturation points, and reactions to economic events.”

His Breakthrough and Continued Growth

“The moment I was able to read the chart without anything on it was the day I made a breakthrough in trading. I realized that the chart is all just sentiment data of the market participants at the current time and in the past. By knowing this, it was easier to understand where the price may move in the future.

I continue to learn and evolve as a technical analyst by continuing to integrate what I see in the chart with other forms of analysis like broad market sentiment, fundamentals, sentiment etc. in order to have clearer appreciation of what is going on in the charts”
